3ware uses a management software for windows called 3dm2. This software should be installed and configured on any server that has a 3ware raid card by default. If your server did not have it installed on the last reload you can install and configure the software pretty easily with the steps below:.
You will need to download and install the software from. Once the installation is complete, open up the 3dm2 utility by clicking on Start, Programs, 3ware, 3dm2, 3dm2 Web Interface. This will open up your default browser and connect to your 3ware controller service running on port 888. You will want to login as Administrator with the default password of ‘ 3ware’ without the quotes. Once logged in, click the 3DM 2 settings tab in the top right area of the browser window. After clicking on the 3DM 2 Settings tab, this will bring up the tab for the settings on this controller.
The Sender address needs to remain the same, as SoftLayer will use the MAC address to locate a server that is reporting errors. If you're going to be using the email monitoring to alert your own team, you can change the sender address to whatever is easiest to identify the server with. ( for example). You will want to leave the e-mail address in place to notify SoftLayer of alerts, though you can add additional e-mail addresses by separating them by a comma. If you're going to add another email address, you'll need to use your own mail server for sending mail since SoftLayer's mail server will not relay the messages for you.
